Morse Family House Dedication: Saturday, March 24th, 2012

This is the moment where all of the hard work that Habitat staff and volunteers put in finally pays off.  On March 24th, Kitt Morse and her five children, Mia, Naja, Salahi Waltkeem, and Latrea were presented with their new home on the 4200 block of W. Stiles Street.  Before handing off the keys to Kitt the home was blessed and volunteers, Habitat staffers, and family friends read off a litany of dedication to commemorate the occasion.

Litany of Dedication:
Leader: May this home serve as a symbol of sharing, hard work, and partnership.
 All: We dedicate this home!
Leader:  That this home will be a place of love and respect for all members of their family- and for all of those who will come and go from their home.
All” We dedicate this home!
Leader: More than walls and roof overhead, let this home be a space and place where this family may grow, learn, play, and thrive.
All: We dedicate this house!
Leader: May this home serve as a place of rest, shelter, and laughter.
All: We dedicate this house!
Leader: Because this home was made possible through the generosity of so many people. We ask you blessing for all of the volunteers who worked tirelessly, the Habitat construction staff who lead the project, our donors who gave generously and neighbors who welcomed us to their block.
All: We dedicate this house!
Leader: Let this home inspire and re-energize ALL of us to continue building so that all of our neighbors have a safe, decent, and affordable place to call home.
All: We dedicate this house!
